About Beverly McArthur

Beverly McArthur is an accomplished mezzo-soprano, dedicated vocal artist and educator based in Eastern Ontario. Her musical journey began as a youth in British Columbia immersed in numerous choirs and musical theatre programs. Growing up, she also shared a love for music by singing folk songs with family, establishing a deep connection to storytelling through song. Driven by this passion, she pursued rigorous classical training and achieved a Grade 9 Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) Voice certification during high school.
This early dedication paved the way for formal training and development as an emerging artist. Beverly’s performance career took root during undergraduate studies at the University of Calgary, performing with the Calgary Opera, and then made her international debut as a student in Italy. While completing her Master’s degree in Opera at the University of British Columbia, she expanded her global footprint by performing in the Czech Republic, blending with an established European opera company for a summer residency. Nationally, Beverly joined Vancouver Opera, debuting as a supporting lead and spending two seasons touring with their prestigious touring ensemble.
Beverly’s growth as a young professional culminated during her time as a resident artist with the esteemed L’Atelier Lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal. This intensive period of elite training and performance helped open doors to further national and international opportunities. Following her time as a resident young artist, she transitioned her stage career into prolific concert work, appearing as a soloist in diverse genres.
Today, Beverly focuses her talents primarily on vocal pedagogy, maintaining a thriving teaching and coaching practice while remaining an active voice in the regional classical community. Drawing from a diverse background in classical opera, musical theatre, and folk traditions, Beverly channels her rich professional experience into mentoring the next generation of singers across Ottawa and the Leeds and Grenville region. She also continues to perform through select concert and recital appearances throughout Ottawa and the greater Leeds and Grenville area.
