MYC’s curriculum was created to build and sustain a wide and firm foundation in music education, appreciation and performance for young children. Our students not only learn how to play the piano and read music, but are also taught the other important elements (i.e. Sight-reading, composition and ensemble playing) that help create a solid, educated and well-balanced musician.
NEW CLASSES begin Oct. 6, 2026
This programs runs from October to June. Classes for beginners are scheduled as follows:
Sunshine 1 (ages 3-4) – Wednesdays at 5:30
Sunbeams 1 (ages 5-6) – Wednesdays at 6:30 (FULL) and Tuesdays at 5:00
Moonbeams 1 (ages 7-8) – Tuesdays at 6:00
Why Choose MYC?
Music for Young Children (MYC) is a Canadian curriculum that has benefitted generations of children in Canada and beyond. The program teaches the foundations of music, including keyboard study, with the developmental level of the child at top of mind. Never teaching ‘down’ and always including a multi-sensory experience, the classes are paced at the appropriate level for the age of the child, and helps to develop critical thinking, team work, deep listening, empathy, and musicianship along with fine and gross motor skills.
